When you bite into the 1-2 inch sized fruit, the sweet outer layer combined with inner fleshy bitterness, tastes like a sweet lemon. I cant believe I had never tried it before!!
They can be eaten whole (just pop them in your mouth) or can be made into jelly/used for candying, added to tea, used as a garnish for martini's/old fashion's and other cocktails. In China, the Kumkwat plant, symbolizes good luck.
Found locally at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods...... if your looking for something new to try, and impress the kids....this is your fruit! Enjoy.
